2. Register in Studielink

Submit your application in Studielink before 15 January 2024

This means that you cannot apply for two programmes in Medicine, but you can apply for Medicine and another fixed-quota programme. For example: Dentistry.

Should you be offered a place in both fixed-quota programmes, please note that you will need to choose between the two; it is not possible to be enrolled in two fixed-quota programmes at the same time.

Check how many selection attempts you have left

You will be granted one, two or three attempts at the selection procedure, depending on the programme.

For more information about the number of attempts, go the programme page:

Number of registered selection attempts

If you took part in decentralized selection or a draw in the past, these attempts also count towards your total number of attempts.

You will see the number of selection attempts that you have used up in Studielink. If you think that the number of registered selection attempts at the University of Groningen is incorrect, you must contact the University of Groningen before 1 september via the form Selection and placement.

Check which selection criteria you must meet before 15 January

You may be required to submit extra information before 15 January. This depends on the fixed quota programme you are applying for.

Go to the programme page for more information about the selection criteria:

If your personal details have not been verified by 15 February, you will not be eligible for the selection procedure and you will have used up one of your selection attempts.

Verification personal details in Studielink

In order to create a Studielink account your personal details must first be verified.

Do you have a Dutch residential address?

If you have an official home address in the Netherlands, you must create an account by logging in with your DigiD. Your personal details are automatically verified via DigiD.

Don't have a DigiD?

If you do not have a DigiD and cannot apply for a DigiD, your identity will need to be verified by another means in order to create a Studielink account. You must upload a scan or photo of your passport or European identity card in Studielink, which will then be checked to see if your details are authentic and complete.

If you are unable to scan your ID or if you run into other difficulties, please check the Verification personal details & Studielink page or report your issue to Studielink.

4. Accept your confirmation of admission on time

Results, confirmation of admission and lodging an appeal

The ranking numbers will be announced on 15 April 2024 and confirmation of admission is sent to those students who have been offered a place in the programme. Studielink is responsible for sending out these notifications.

Explanation
If a programme has a maximum of 100 places, the students ranked number 1 to 100 will be offered a place. Students ranked number 101 and above will be offered places in turn, if other students do not accept their place (in time).

Accept your confirmation of admission within two weeks!

You must accept your confirmation of admission via Studielink within two weeks of receipt.

If you do not, your offer will expire and the place will be automatically offered to the student on the waiting list.

Not accepted in time

If, for some reason, you were unable to accept your confirmation of admission in time, you can submit a request for admission in the following academic year.

You must provide evidence of why you were unable to accept your offer in time.

If your request is approved, you will be sent confirmation of admission for the academic year (following the year for which you made the request).

Failing your exams

If you fail the exams you need to be admitted to the programme, your selection attempt can be cancelled. This is only possible if you submit your cancellation request before 1 September. In this case you will not have used up an attempt and will be able to take part in the selection procedure the following year.

Lodging an appeal

You can lodge an appeal to decisions relating to selection through the Central Portal for the Legal Protection of Student Rights (CLRS).

Appeals must be lodged within six weeks. For more information see Regulations for Selection and Placement.

5. Proof of satisfying the entry requirements

Prove you meet the entry requirements before 15 July 2024 at the latest

Make sure that you have provided proof of satisfying the entry requirements by 15 July at the latest.

If you fail to do so, your confirmation of admission will expire and your place will be offered to another student.

Important for non-EU applicants

A different deadline may apply to applicants with a non-EU nationality. Make sure to check your decision letter and other important information you received from the Admissions Office.

Problems?

If you are unable to provide proof of satisfying the entry requirements by 15 July, submit a request for postponement using the form Selection and Placement before 15 July.

If you are still unable to provide proof of satisfying the entry requirements by the new deadline, your confirmation of admission will expire.
