After completing her PhD at the University of Tübingen, Germany, in 2016, she spent 3 years as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Intercultural and International Studies at the University of Bremen. She is the author of "Security Threats and Public Perception: Digital Russia and the Ukraine Crisis" (Palgrave, 2017). Her other publications include peer-reviewed articles on nationalism, sexuality, and social networks, as well as regular blog posts at “The Duck of Minerva”. Lisa's research is situated on the intersection of political theory, international relations, media and cultural studies.

Benjamin Leruth is an Assistant Professor in Politics and Society specializing in comparative politics and social policy, Euroscepticism, democratic innovations, and differentiated European (dis)integration. Prior to joining the University of Groningen, he worked as Assistant Professor in Politics and Public Administration at the University of Canberra (2017-19), as a Research Associate at the University of Kent (2015-17) and as a Teaching Fellow in French and European Politics at the University of Bath (2014). He also held a visiting fellowship at the ARENA Centre for European Studies (University of Oslo). He holds a Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Edinburgh, a LL.M. in European Law from the University of Kent and a BA in Political Science from the University of Namur.

He is the co-author and co-editor of various books, such as Euroscepticism as a Transnational and pan-European Phenomenon (Routledge, 2017); After Austerity (Oxford University Press, 2017); the Routledge Handbook of Euroscepticism (Routledge, 2018); Attitudes, Aspirations and Welfare (Palgrave, 2018); and Differentiated Integration and Disintegration in a Post-Brexit Era (Routledge, 2020). His articles have been published in journals such as Policy & Politics, the Journal of European Public Policy, the Journal of Common Market Studies, Politics, Comparative European Politics, and Social Policy & Administration. He is the co-founder and co-director of the UACES-funded Research Network on “Differentiated Integration in the European Union after Brexit”.

Lars Rensmann is Professor of European Politics and Society at the University of Groningen. He serves as the Chair of the Department of European Languages and Cultures and as Director of the Research Centre for the Study of Democratic Cultures and Politics. He is a member of several Editorial Boards, including the Journal of International Political Theory (JIPT) and Antisemitism Studies. Before joining RUG, he served as Professor of Political Science and Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Affairs at John Cabot University in Rome. He is also Permanent Fellow at the Moses Mendelssohn Center, University of Potsdam, and Visiting Professor at JCU in Rome. Prior to his return to Europe, he was the DAAD Professor of Political Science in the Department of Political Science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prof. Rensmann holds a BA in Political Science from Luther College, Iowa, and an MA and PhD in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin. Other previous academic appointments and visiting professorships at Yale University, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of Vienna, LMU Munich, and the University of Haifa, among many others. Fields of Research: comparative politics, especially European and American political cultures and systems, political parties, and crises of democracy; European radical right and populist parties; populist parties in government; social media and digital populism; antisemitism, conspiracy myths, racism and (counter-)cosmopolitanism in Europe and the US; sports and European/global politics; German politics in European context; European and global political theory; history of international political, democratic and critical theories and their contemporary relevance; human rights and politico-cultural legacies of the Holocaust and genocide; European and global politics of climate change. In 2019, Prof. Rensmann received the Faculty of Arts' "Lecturer of the Year" Award.
