Expertise
I am a political philosopher with an insatiable interest in compromise. I study collective decision-making in various contexts, including religious accommodation, workplace diversity, democratic politics and institutional design. I have also written on the right of exit from voluntary associations, such as marriage, employment and religious groups. I am currently serving as interim programme director of University College Fryslân.
Prior to joining the University of Groningen, I contributed to two projects as a postdoctoral researcher, one on public life and religious diversity (University of Oxford, 2016-2019) and another on the ethics of voting (Horizon 2020 Grant, Sciences Po Paris, 2019-2020). I completed my PhD at Sciences Po Paris (2016) and was a Fox Fellow at Yale University (2013-2014) and an Alliance visiting scholar at Columbia University (2015).
