Field/Discipline
Expertise
My main areas of interest are: the European Union and the Eastern Partnership; comparative politics; and post-Soviet politics.
Other positions
My research looks at the way in which states try to enhance their interest representation in international relations with the European Union, and whether this leads to possible friction in policy-making. Specifically, I have worked on relations between Azerbaijan and the EU, to understand how the government uses diplomacy and cooperation to enhance its interest in the areas of economy, Nagorno-Karabakh, and values. I am now broadening this research to other states in the post-Soviet region.
