Master Ambassador Journalism
Tadgh O' Sullivan

Hi my name is Tadhg O’ Sullivan and I’m a 24-year-old Irish student doing a masters in Journalism. So far, I don’t think the masters could be going any better. I know it might seem like I have to say this but I genuinely mean it. I felt I learned more in my first month here than I did during my whole degree. My class is very diverse and everyone gets along really well. The lecturers have been brilliant, they interact so well with us and really push everyone to be the best journalist they can be. I would summarize the master as challenging but enjoyable.

It’s hard to say exactly how many hours the masters is per week, it depends on the lecturer and the module. Some days you’ll have classes most of the day or you can go home early to do assignments. I suppose that every day is like a 9-5 working day. I chose the University of Groningen because it was recommended to me by numerous people that did a term for Erasmus here. The student vibe to the city combined with the high-quality journalism course and low tuition cost sold me on Groningen. I would highly recommend Groningen to prospective students for all the reasons above but also for the city itself.

Groningen has something for everyone and if you put a lot of value in an active social life as well as getting a good education its perfect for you.
