Two double degree programmes from the Faculty of Science and Engineering have again been awarded the Erasmus Mundus label. It concerns the Erasmus Mundus Master in Evolutionary Biology (MEME) and the Erasmus Mundus Master in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modeling (TCCM). Erasmus Mundus masters are offered by consortia of cooperating universities. Students spend time at at least two partner universities and generally receive a double degree upon completion of the programme.
The Erasmus Mundus label counts as a label of excellence. Only high quality degree programmes are eligible for this. There is also a very selective admission process for students. Very important: students who are admitted to a programme can be eligible for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
M1 grants have an amount of around EUR 360,000 and are intended for realizing curiosity-driven, fundamental research of high quality and / or scientific urgency.
Eleven partners from three countries (The Netherlands, Spain, and Cyprus) and the European Science Engagement Association have developed teaching modules on biodiversity, water management, and bird migration.
Their project has the title ‘ Sustainable Mobility through STEM Education’ (SMILE).
