Kunstgeschiedenis

I can never visit enough museums and I always enjoy looking at art

My name is Isabel and I am 20 years old. I come from Utrecht and after a year in the United States, I came to Groningen to study Art History. I really enjoy travelling and art. Alongside my studies, I am involved in board and committee work and the Honours College, and I'm a member of a student association. I also spend a lot of time with my friends from the programme, association and home.

    Why Art History?

After a year following the most varied subjects possible at a liberal arts college in the United States, I discovered that I enjoyed art-related subjects the most, and I was best at them too. In addition, I can never visit enough museums and I always enjoy looking at art. The best thing about the programme is that you investigate a single topic in great depth, although there is also a lot of variation within that topic too. It is also great to see the things you are learning about all around you, particularly because the degree programme in Groningen is also about the history of architecture!
