Carl Craver: A Field Guide to Levels in Neuroscience
Colloquium with Prof. Carl Craver (Washington University in St Louis)
The colloquium is on Thursday May 24 from 13:15 to 14:30 and will be held in room A2 of the Academy Building, Broerstraat 5.
Professor Craver is a philosopher of neuroscience with side interests in the history and philosophy of biology, general philosophy of science, metaphysics, and moral psychology. He is the author of Explaining the Brain: Mechanisms and the Mosaic Unity of Neuroscience (Clarendon Press, 2007). Besides this he has written numerous philosophical papers dealing with the relation between philosophy and psychology. His forthcoming book (with Lindley Darden), Searching for Mechanisms: Discoveries Across the Life Sciences, develops a mechanistic view of discovery in biology.
