Prof. Siewert-Jan Marrink
) participates in the interdisciplinary BOUNDLESS consortium led by Associate Professor Frans Mulder (Aarhus University) to study so-called membrane-less organelles and how these control key biological processes. Membrane-less organelles are unstructured macromolecular assemblies that behave like droplets (alike oil in water) and boost or quench biochemical reactions, for instance switching on and off signaling pathways. The BOUNDLESS programme has received EUR 2 million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation – Interdisciplinary Synergy Programme. This is including a postdoc position for Marrink, who will focus on molecular dynamics simulations.
Four researchers of the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) have received an ENW-XS grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO). These grants are awarded to encourage curiosity-driven and bold...
EIC Pathfinder grants are intended to support research teams in investigating or developing an emerging breakthrough technology.
What is special about these grants is that they come under the Global Challenges & European Industrial Competitiveness branch of Horizon Europe. This means that the technological application has already been considered.
