Ulrike Hahn: Rational Argument, A Bayesian Perspective
|When:||We 01-05-2013 15:15 - 17:00|
|Where:||Room Omega, Faculty of Philosophy|
Lecture by Ulrike Hahn (Dept. of Psychological Sciences, Birkbeck, University of London)
Organized by the Dep of Theoretical Philosophy
The talk describes conceptual and empirical advantages of adopting a Bayesian perspective on everyday, informal reasoning. It is shown how such a perspective provides answers to long-standing philosophical puzzles and affords new possibilities for empirical research on argumentation in cognitive psychology, social psychology and argumentation studies.
