Symposium: Sensorimotor Approaches and Consciousness
|Wanneer:||do 13-09-2012 15:00 - 18:00|
Sensorimotor and enactive approaches to cognition focus on the relation between sensory stimulation and the activity of the organism. How can such approaches contribute to understanding human consciousness? Does they exclude more traditional cognitivist interpretations of cognition? What happens when sensorimotor relations are artificially modulated? And what can we learn from studying the evolutionary origins of sensorimotor organization?
The symposium is on the occasion of Jan Degenaar’s PhD defense. Speakers: Erik Myin, Marc Slors, Julian Kiverstein and Fred Keijzer.
