The University of Groningen wants all its staff to feel at home

By taking into account every individual’s specific talents, the University makes optimal use of the knowledge and abilities of its staff. This allows the organization to perform at a top level.

Academic research has proved that heterogeneity has a positive effect on the performance of the organization.

The University’s diversity policy is currently directed mainly towards gender diversity. With instruments such as the Rosalind Franklin Fellowship Programme, Inclusive Leadership courses and a mentoring programme directed at female academics, the University stimulates the recruitment and promotion of female talent.

This policy also does justice to the diversity among students and PhD graduates. The women who now claim top positions will inspire future academic talent.
