News from the programme

  • 2023, September: All students of cohort 2021-2023 and one student from the previous cohort finished the Top Master Nanoscience and received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony at the Academy Building.
  • 2023, July: Prof. dr. Thomas L. C. Jansen winner of the 'Teacher of the year Award 2022-2023' for the Top Master Nanoscience
  • 2022, September: Eight out of nine students of cohort 2020-2022 finished the Top Master Nanoscience and received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony at Van Swinderen Huys.
  • 2022, July: Prof. dr. Maxim S. Pshenichnikov winner of the 'Teacher of the year Award 2021-2022' for the Top Master Nanoscience
  • 2021, September: Eight out of ten students of cohort 2019-2021, one student of cohort 2018-2020, and one student of cohort 2015-2017 finished the Top Master Nanoscience and received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony at Van Swinderen Huys. Graduates

  • 2021, June: Top Master Nanoscience student Rebecca Rodrigues de Miranda nominated for GUF 100 award.
  • 2020, September: Ten students of the cohort 2018-2020 finished the Topmaster Nanoscience within two years and received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony at Hotel Van der Valk. Graduates (not everyone is on the picture)
  • 2020, July: Dr. Remco Havenith won the 'Teacher of the Year Award 2019-2020' for the Topmaster Nanoscience
  • 2020, January: Josse Muller, last student of cohort 2017-2019 finished the master and received his diploma.
  • 2019, September: Twelve students of the cohort 2017-2019 finished the Topmaster Nanoscience within two years and received their diplomas.
  • 2019, June: Prof. Richard Hildner won the 'Teacher of the year' Award 2018-2019 for the Top Master Nanoscience
  • 2019, January: Master's programme Nanoscience assessed as excellent for the third time.
  • 2018, November: Anouk Goossens wins the KHMW Young Talent Award for Physics2019 and receives the Shell Award for her Master's Thesis.
  • 2018 September: All 10 students of the 2016-2018 cohort finished the programme within 2 years, and received their diplomas in a festive ceremony.
  • 2018, June: Dr. Graeme Blake won the ' Teacher of the year' Award 2017-2018 for the Top Master Nanoscience.
  • 2018, March: The Master’s degree in Nanoscience is in the top three for the sixth year in a row in the Netherlands
  • 2017, August: 9 out of the 11 Nanoscience students from the cohort 2015-2017 finished the programme within 2 years.
  • 2017, March: According to the Higher Education Guide for Master’s degree programmes, the Nanoscience programme is again the best university Master’s degree programme in the Netherlands
  • 2016, August: 10 of the 12 Nanoscience students from the cohort 2014-2016 finished the programme within 2 years.
  • 2016, March: Master's in Nanoscience once again best university Master's degree programme.
  • 2015, September: Our education and scholarship programme will receive financial support from Tata Steel. In addition, Tata Steel and the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials will collaborate on research, which will offer new opportunities for student research projects.
  • 2015, August: All 14 students of the 2013-2015 cohort finished the programme within 2 years, and received their diploma in a festive ceremony.
  • 2015, March: In the 2015 version of the Higher Education Guide for the Netherlands, our programme again came out as the best master programme of the Netherlands (over all disciplines).
  • 2013, January: Top Master Programme in Nanoscience assessed as excellent, and new accreditation obtained.
