Researching Health and Technology Law
Prof. Dr Brigit Toebes (health law) and Prof. Dr Jeanne Mifsud Bonnici (technology law) conduct research within different areas of law. However, we are currently facing several challenges in global health where expertise from both health law and technology law is needed to reach a solution.
One of the questions Brigit and Jeanne are working on is how health and technology law can ensure better coexistence between health technology developments and patient rights. Incidentally, they combine their strengths not only in research but also within teaching. They have developed the LL.M. track Health and Technology Law, offering students in-depth training on both areas of law.
Brigit Toebes is Professor of Health Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen. Among other things, she is Scientific Director of the Aletta Jacobs School of Public Health and President of the Dutch Association for Health Law. Jeanne Mifsud Bonnici is Professor of Technology Law and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen. She is also a member of the Committee on Ethical Review of Research in Law (CETOR).
In the video below, Brigit and Jeanne talk more about their research.
