General information

on application, admission & selection (pre)master Psychology

You can apply for the Master's in Psychology September 2024 from 15 January to 1 March/1 May. The application deadline depends on the chosen track.

Register with
Studielink and with the RUG via the application form on this website. You can find this form on the page 'Application and admission per prior education'.

This page offers a brief overview and explanation of all relevant aspects in relation to application, admission & selection.

The admission requirements and application process first of all depend on which kind of bachelor's diploma you (will) have obtained. Please carefully study the ‘prior education’ page that applies to your situation. If you are eligible for a premaster's programme based on your previous education, all information on this will be provided there as well.

All master tracks have the same general criteria (that apply to all master tracks) and some tracks have additional specific criteria. This means that it depends on your previous education and the track you have chosen whether you are eligible for admission or whether you need to do something extra.

Depending on your background and language of the track of your choice, you will have to submit proof of your proficiency in either Dutch or English.

Most master's tracks have more admissible students than available places. This means that for these tracks you will have to participate in the selection procedure by means of a selection test. After the selection procedure you may be placed in the master track of your choice or on the waiting list.
A few tracks do not require a selection procedure and allow you to be placed immediately.
