Frequently Asked Questions

I'm a 'HBO'-student or a student from a professional University ('hogeschool'). Can I follow a Minor at the RUG?
No, HBO-students can not follow a Minor at the RUG.

I'm a RUG student. Can I follow a Minor at my own faculty?
The explicit goal of following a Minor is to become more familiar with disciplines of other faculties. There are some faculties however that offer Minors related to your own field of studying. Please contact your faculty about the possibilities.

I'm a student from a different research university in The Netherlands. Can I follow a Minor at the RUG?
Yes, that's certainly possible. Please contact the University Student Desk for more information, tel. 050 363 8004.

Do I have to ask permission from my study department before I can follow a Minor?
If your faculty fully participates in the Major-Minor system (see also Minor Programmes) then you don't have to ask permission to follow a University Minor. This is your own choice.
