What Tijmen likes most about the programme

"For someone with a background in geography, sociology or anthropology, who likes investigating relationships between places and people I’d say this is the best pogramme they can think of.

I am happy that the master is more focused on the relationship between places and people because I have always found it fascinating, and because I see myself rather as a geographer than a tourism-researcher."

Career

As COVID-19 has shown, tourism is a fragile phenomenon: it can suddenly come to a grinding halt leaving communities that rely on tourism without means to sustain their livelihood.

Moreover, before COVID-19, tourism had reached a level that threatened that same heritage (both human and natural) on which it depends. Experts who are able to find sustainable solutions to such issues are needed!
