Programma

  • 1 jaar

    During the first semester you will make acquaintance with the core sociological and philosophical concepts to study the role of the arts in society. Moreover, you will focus on cultural leadership and learn cultural policy research techniques. An internship provides first-hand experience in an (international) cultural organization or policy environment. You will choose your own particular area of expertise and specific niche in an art world for your master thesis research project.

The track consists of four obligatory courses in the first semester: Arts and the Public Sphere, Art Sociology, The Global/Local Cultural Leader and Public Arts Policy in Global Context (20 EC in total). You will choose 10 EC of arts disciplinary courses from the available course list. The second semester consists of an internship (10 EC) and the thesis project (20 EC).
