Unilever Research Prize for Zwarthoff

Thursday December 3th, Seline Zwarthoff was presented with the Unilever Research Prize during an award ceremony in Vlaardingen. Zwarthoff is a Biomolecular Sciences student who graduated cum laude. The prize is annually awarded to thirteen Master’s students from different Dutch universities for their excellent research in the fields of chemistry, biology, medicine and life sciences, mechanical engineering, and social sciences. With this prize Unilever aims to underline the importance of academic research for game changing technologies and innovation.
Zwarthoff received ‘The Ovum’ as award, a sculpture giving the impression of a hatching bird’s egg, symbolising the birth and emergence of new talent. In addition, she also received a cheque of €2,500.
