Prof. Bart van Wees elected APS Fellow
Bart van Wees
is elected as Fellow of the
American Physical Society
"for pioneering research in charge and spin-based quantum transport in mesoscopic systems." Prof. van Wees is chair of the Physics of Nanodevices group at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials and is Work Package Leader in the EU Flagship programme Graphene Spintronics.
The fellowship is recognition of his extraordinary contribution to physics. Only a half percent of the members of the American Physical Society is honoured in this way.
The research group of van Wees is exploring new physical phenomena that occur in electronic and opto-electronic device structures with nanoscale dimensions. More information on the research of Prof. Bart van Wees can be found on the Physics of Nanodevices website .
