Peter Barthel blogging for Kennisdebat in October
During the month of October, Peter Barthel will be keeping a weblog for Kennisdabat (Knowledge Debate). In his first contribution as a Blogging Scientist, ‘There’s no such thing as bad PR’, Barthel calls on Groningen natural scientists to pay more attention to communication about their work.
Barthel, astronomer and rector of the University of Groningen High School Student Academy, is the first scientist in academic year 2010-2011 who will keep a weblog for a month. In November it will be the turn of Peter Verhoef , professor of Marketing, to blog about current affairs.
A Blogging Scientist writes a number of short pieces in a month (each about 250 words long) on matters that catch his or her attention in the news, naturally with a special eye to the own research. Last academic year the Blogging Scientists included Janka Stoker, Trudy Dehue, Menno Gerkema, Oscar Couwenberg and Ton Schoot Uiterkamp.
