Vacancy: student assistant event coordination (0,4 fte)

Job description

As of September 2018, Campus Fryslân will offer a BSc in Global Responsibility & Leadership in the form of a University College in the city of Leeuwarden. We are currently organising an introduction week for students that are starting in September, as well as a scholarship fundraising event for external partners in November. We require an event coordination assistant to support with the organisation of these events.

The duties of the assistant will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the coordination team in logistics and planning of the student introduction week (August) and scholarship fundraising event (November).
- Being the main contact person and managing correspondence for both events.
- Assisting with social media efforts and promotional material.
- Coordinating and monitoring event timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.

As well as completing tasks specifically related to event managing, the assistant might also be required to assist the support staff of University College Fryslân with other tasks related to the bachelor programme. This may include duties pertaining to recruitment.


- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken Dutch and English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Experience with organising events and details such a catering, venue bookings, catering, transportation, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material among other tasks.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with social media preferable, but not required.

What we offer

- This position is for 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) for a period of 7 months with an expected start date of 1 June 2018.
- The University of Groningen/Campus Fryslân offers a salary of €1958 on a full-time basis.
- The position is based at the Campus Fryslân office which is located at Sophialaan 1, Leeuwarden.
