Everybody knows the feeling now and then. When you feel sad or lonely, you often like to clutter up yourself with chocolate or other fulfilling food, to feel more comfortable or satisfied. Is it just a feeling of comfort, or is your body really acting different? Where does it come from? Is it the food itself or do we have to zoom in on our intestines and gut bacteria to explain such feeling? At the next Studium Generale on 31 March, dr. Sahar El Aidy will tell you about the research she did on the relation between the gut and the brain and how gut bacteria can influence our mood, health and sometimes even the medication we take. There is still a lot to explore and discover about our guts. In this lecturer dr. El Aidy will take you on a short journey inside.
