Faculty Councils

Role and Responsibilities of the Faculty Council

The Faculty Council operates within the framework of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Act (WHW). Its defined role includes an advisory function to the Board of the University and approval rights regarding faculty regulations and the education/examination regulations for different programs. The council holds the right to access information, make inquiries to the Dean, and develop their initiatives.

Council meetings

Council meetings cover diverse topics such as the faculty budget, regulations, and the Education Examination Regulation (OER), detailing student and faculty rights and obligations. Educational issues and housing are regular agenda items. Council meetings are open to the public, promoting transparency in decision-making processes.

Council Composition

Consisting of staff and student representatives, the Council conducts annual student member elections and biennial staff member elections. This structure ensures a balanced representation, incorporating diverse perspectives in decision-making.
