Step 3: Selection
The next step is for the (departmental) exchange coordinators to decide which students can go to which universities. This depends on the number of applications and the available places at each partner university.
The study adviser of each student’s degree programme is often involved in this procedure. The following matters are taken into account:
- good and clear motivation
- proficiency in the foreign language involved
- relevance to the study programme
- study results (for the entire study period thus far) and other demonstrated qualities (administrative, social, organizational)
After we receive the decision from the departmental exchange coordinators we will inform you about the selections by email. Use our timeline to see when you can expect to hear from us.
What happens after you have been selected?
The Mobility Office will nominate you at the Host Institution. We will send them your name, address, email, exchange period and subject area (ie. your study programme or the subject area of the contract). We will ask them to contact you and inform you about their application procedure, semester dates, course selection, housing, introduction programme etc., but make sure to check this yourself on their website as well. Search for 'Exchange/Erasmus + name Host university' do not confuse going on exchange with applying as a full degree student. After applying you will receive a confirmation of definitive registration (by letter or e-mail) from the partner university. Once you have been nominated, the Mobility Office will inform you about
the grant application procedure
and other subsequent steps before your departure.
