Take a course in 2022

The timetable for courses starting in January, February and March at the Language Centre is available! Enrolment starts at different moments. Check out what's interesting for you below.

Due to the corona measures, all our courses will be taught entirely online until at least 28 January 2022. At the beginning of January, we will decide on the mode of teaching after 28 January.

Dutch

Online Dutch

Learn Dutch or improve your Dutch – wherever you are in the world. Our eight-week Online Dutch courses combine independent study with group sessions. These sessions are organized so that they take place at a convenient time, regardless of the time zone you are in. The courses will start on 20 and 27 January at eight different levels. Registration for these courses is open.

Dutch civic integration courses

We offer Dutch courses at three levels and an Online Exam Training for the State Exam NT2-II, for those wanting to complete the Dutch integration process. Registration for these courses is open. In order to enrol for the Dutch courses and the plus version of the exam training you first need to register for an intake interview.

Dutch for native speakers

For native speakers of Dutch we offer an Academic Writing Course which covers all the aspects of writing good Dutch academic texts: paragraph structure, writing style, a focus on the target group and spelling. The courses start on 8 February, registration is open!

Dutch speaking & writing skills

Work on your speaking skills with one of the courses below. The courses start from 14 February.

  • Writing skills from level B2 (registration is open)
  • Oral skills from level B2 (registration is open)
  • Conversational Dutch course up to level A2 or B1. Registration opens on Thursday 20 January at 10 a.m.. You can already view the timetable now. These courses are open to everyone. International students, PhD students and postdocs at the UG can take these courses at the UG’s expense.

Dutch for non-native speakers

We offer general group courses in Dutch at nine different levels, from beginners (0) to advance (C1). We also have special courses for UG staff members at levels 0>A2, A1>A2/B1 and A2>B1. The courses start from 14 February. Registration is open.

Dutch for UG students, PhD's and postdocs

International students, PhD students and postdocs at the UG can take Dutch courses at the Language Centre at the UG’s expense. The courses start from 7 February. Registration opens on Thursday 20 January at 10 a.m.. You can already view the timetable now. Be quick when you want to register, the courses fill up quickly!

Dutch for native speakers of German

Due to the linguistic similarities between German and Dutch, we offer special Dutch courses for German speakers. The courses are open to everyone. International students, PhD students and postdocs at the UG can take these courses at the UG’s expense. The courses start from 7 February. Registration opens on Friday 21 January at 1 p.m.. You can already view the timetable now.


English

Improve your English language skills with one of our general English courses, which we offer at four different levels.

You can also enrol in a course Publishing in English and a course English for professionals - Speaking B2.


Modern Foreign Languages

In February, courses in seven different languages will start. Registration is possible up to one week before the course starting date. The courses will be held online in our virtual classroom. Check out the course range and sign up!

Arabic

Our Arabic courses involve making initial acquaintance with standard Arabic, the most widely spoken and understood variant of Arabic. You can register for one of our three different levels.

French

Achieve your objectives in French quickly thanks to motivating, fun and communicative activities. Follow a standard course in French or pick a specific course with a thematic approach.

German

Would you like to pick up your knowledge of German again, or strengthen it? We offer courses from intermediate to advanced.

Italian

Can you not speak any Italian, or only a bit? Register for our beginners’ course or the follow-up course to successfully navigate daily situations in Italian.

We will also offer a new level A2>A2/B1 in February!

Japanese

Our Japanese courses make initial acquaintance with the Japanese language. In the beginners’ course, the Japanese kana alphabet is introduced, which you get to work with more in the follow-up courses!

Russian

Get acquainted with the Cyrillic alphabet in the beginners’ course, and broaden your knowledge of Russian in the two follow-up courses. At all levels, the emphasis lies on understanding and speaking Russian.

Spanish

Learn Spanish or improve your Spanish in one of our many courses. We offer Spanish language courses at five levels, from beginners to advanced.

Do you already speak a bit of Spanish and want to specifically work on your conversational skills? Then register for our Spanish conversation course at level A2 or B1 and learn to speak better Spanish in an accessible and practical manner!
