What is an Open Course

An open college is a course on an academic level. Effectively, it is a 'queuing lecture', which means that you, as an attendee, join a regular part of the study programme. So there are no separate lectures for attendees.

What may an attendee do?

As an attendee, you can participate in the lectures for which you have registered. At the end of such a lecture, you may also take the examination, but this is not compulsory. In both cases you can apply for a certificate of participation through the educational administration. On the basis of these certificates, however, you cannot gain access to the Propaedeutic, Bachelor's and/or Master's exams.

How can you sign up?

Via a registration form that you can download. For each part you want to follow, you need to fill in a separate registration form and send it to Because of Covid-19, online submission has the preference at this moment.

Which parts can be attended?

A selection of open courses that are accessible to listeners has been made from the regular range of courses on offer. If you would like to follow a course that is not included in the overview, please contact the liaison officer for the open lectures Mrs. L. Timmermans. In consultation with the lecturer concerned, we will then examine whether and under what conditions participation in the lecture is possible.

What are the fees?

The costs for participation vary, as the price of a module is determined by the number of lectures, pieces of work and exams offered. The registration fee does not include the costs of literature.
