Santos receives EMBO long-term fellowship
Joana Santos, PhD at the Enzymology group, Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology Institute (GBB), has been awarded an EMBO long-term fellowship. Santos receives the fellowship for the study on the Energy-coupling factor ECF. The goal of this proposal is to elucidate the dynamics of substrate transport across the membrane, as well as the arrangement and interactions within different ECF complexes. Such an approach will ultimately help to build a detailed picture of this unique class of membrane proteins and help create new therapeutic avenues that target specifically ECF transporters.
The EMBO long-term fellowship is a prestigious European fellowship in the life sciences field with an application success rate of 15% or less.
