Inaugural lecture Prof H.M. (Hugh) Marston: Bringing precision to psychiatry, driving a new era of therapeutic innovation

When a scientist is appointed professor, he or she holds an inaugural lecture: a public speech of maximum 30 minutes in the auditorium of the university for an audience. Often this speech is about the research area of the newly appointed professor and his or her vision on it.
Mental health is emerging as one of our greatest modern-day challenges. Developing new treatments is proving a great challenge. By bringing a new level of precision to our understanding of the patient then it is hoped we can initiate a new era of therapeutic innovation.
