Grant from DFE Pharma for Prof. Frijlink
Prof. Frijlink of the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy ( GRIP ) has received a grant from DFE Pharma GmbH worth EUR 400,000 for the project ‘Stabilization of proteins using combinations of saccharides and amino acids’. Aim of the project is to generate mechanistic understanding on stabilization of therapeutic proteins using sugars and amino acids in combination. The investigation will further explore possibility to use GOS (Galacto-oligosaccharides) in combination with other sugars and amino acids. The ultimate goal is to develop a correlation model between the composition of the stabilizing matrices and their efficacy as stabilizers for therapeutic proteins in the solid state.
