Prof. Jasper Knoester appointed Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences

On 10 November 2009, the Board of the University of Groningen appointed Prof. Jasper Knoester as Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. His appointment will run from 1 January 2010 until 1 January 2014.

Knoester will succeed Prof. T.T.M. Palstra, who has acted as interim Dean since 1 September 2009. Knoester is currently the scientific director of the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials. He will resign this post upon becoming Dean.
