FEBS Excellence Award 2025 for Alexander Belyy

The Federation of European Biochemical Societies has awarded Alexander Belyy the 2025 Excellence Award for early-career principal investigators, worth EUR 100,000.
Belyy receives this prestigious award for his structure-function research on pathogenic microorganisms that ‘hijack’ their host cells’ cytoskeleton in order to escape the immune system. Belly is Assistant Professor at the Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and BiotechnologyInstitute (GBB). Recently, he was also awarded an ERC Starting Grant.
