Information for new master students

The time has come: you are starting your master at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences! To help you get started, you can find practical information here. This information is meant for students who are admissible (according to the Admissions office if you have an international diploma or the admission board if you have a Dutch diploma) to one of the master programmes of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences.

As the corona measures are still (partly) in place, there may be some uncertainties about how the 2020-2021 academic year will progress. To keep informed, please check this page . If we have any updates, we will post them there.

Admission academic year 2020-2021

Due to the Corona crisis you don't have to have finished your Bachelor programme to start with your FSS Master programme in September 2020. Of course you do have to follow a bachelorprogramme that gives you admission to one of our Master programmes. Introduction

You have applied for a master of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. The University of Groningen organizes an alternative welcoming ceremony for all international students. This ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Updates can be found on their website. You will receive an invitation from the University.

Registering for courses

You have to enroll for your courses every semester. You are automatically enrolled for your exams. You can view the registration periods for courses on the Student Portal. For semester 1a this was 20 July. Please register before 31 August. See the tutorial below for a guide how to enroll for your courses. Please contact educationoffice.fss@rug.nl if you don't have access yet.

Book sale

You can order your study books online through the website of our study association Ibn Batutta. You can check on their website which books you will need and order them when applicable with a discount.
