Matching

Matching is a procedure for first year students who want to apply for a bachelor. If you want to apply in the year 2019/2020 for a bachelor without a central (ballot system) and decentral selection procedure, you have to do this before May 1st. That is a statutory requirement. When you have applied, you have the right to participate in a matching activity. During a matching activity you can find out if you and the study applied for 'match'.

Application before May 1st

The Faculty of Spatial Sciences offers you the opportunity to make an matching assignment, however, this is not obligatory. You can choose yourself whether you would like to do this. If you would like this, you can contact the study advice department via study.advice.fss@rug.nl.

Application after May 1st

Matching is a procedure for first year students who want to apply for a bachelor. If you want to apply in the year 2019/2020 for a bachelor without a selection procedure, you have to do this before May 1st. If you apply after May 1st and have a Dutch preliminary education, doing a matching assignment becomes obligatory. This means you do have to hand in a matching assignment in order to get admitted to the programme (after, of course, meeting the other entry requirements). You can email the study advice department via study.advice.fss@rug.nl for more information about the assignment.

Please keep in mind that we let students with a Dutch preliminary education participate in the matching assignments until the end of July. After August 1st 2019, students can no longer participate in matching and therefore can no longer be admitted to the programme.

If you have an international preliminary education you cannot be admitted to the programme after May 1st.
