Keetje Hodshon Prize awarded to Han Thomas Adriaenssen
Han Thomas Adriaenssen, University Lecturer and VENI laureate, has been awarded with the Keetje Hodshon Prize from the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen.
He receives the prize of 12.500 euros for his dissertation and other publications. This prestigious prize is awarded each year to a researcher, who has received his/her PhD no longer than 5 years before, for "original work in the humanities". Every four years the prize goes to someone in the domain of philosophy/theological studies.
This is already the fourth time that the prize goes to someone who did his PhD in the Department of the History of Philosophy at the Groningen Faculty of Philosophy. Earlier prize winners are Han van Ruler (1996), Lodi Nauta (2000), and Pieter Sjoerd Hasper (2004).
Adriaenssen's dissertation Knowledge and the Veil of Representations has received much praise from distinguished historians of philosophy and will be published next year by Cambridge University Press with the title Cognition and Representation from Aquinas to Descartes..
