Philosophy Student for a Day
Everyone who considers to study philosophy in Groningen is welcome to be a philosophy Student for a Day in December and in February.
First-year courses in the Dutch-taught bachelor
Please note that most of our first-year courses are given in Dutch. But since we offer an English-taught bachelor (Philosophy of a Specific Discipline), which starts in the second year of your first bachelor, we want to be open to international students in the first year of their bachelor's too. Please contact the study advisor Anouk Labberté to see what can be arranged.
Student for a Day 2024-2025
-
12 December 2024: Geschiedenis van de Filosofie 2: Middeleeuwen (09:00-13:00 + lunch).
-
10 Februari 2025: Sociale en Politieke Filosofie 1 (SPF1) (09:00-13:00 + lunch). The lecture is given in Dutch and/or English.
If you sign up for the Student for a Day, you will attend a Dutch-taught course with our first-year students. The lecture will usually be followed by a seminar. In the seminar, contents of the lecture and previously studied texts are discussed. We will send you the texts and questions that will be discussed in order for you to be prepared.
After class, you’ll have lunch with the other participants, first-year student-ambassadors and the study advisor. That is the moment to ask all questions about studying Philosophy in Groningen!
Registration
In order to participate a registration is needed. Registration is open until one week beforehand so please register in time!
We will send you all information such as the programme and texts and questions to be prepared in the week before your visit.
You can direct further questions to the bachelor study advisor, Anouk Labberté.
