Heisenberg, Werner Karl

The German Werner Karl Heisenberg (1901 - 1976), son to a school teacher, was a theoretical physicist.
He developed the matrix formulation of quantum mechanics, which is equivalent to the Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger wave formulation of quantum mechanics.
He is best known for his uncertainty principle.
