Dirac, Paul Adrien Maurice

The Englishman Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac (1902 - 1984), son to a French teacher, was a theoretical physicist.
He developed a formulation of quantum mechanics, which is equivalent to both the Erwin Rudolf Josef Alexander Schrödinger wave formulation and the Werner Karl Heisenberg matrix formulation.
His work led to the prediction of the existence of the positron, the electron's antiparticle, which was about five years later observed by Carl David Anderson.
