Radiotoxicity equivalent

The quantity radiotoxicity equivalent (Re) is the activity which, at intake, results in a committed effective dose of 1 sievert. The corresponding unit is becquerel (Bq). The radiotoxicity equivalent is the inverse of the dose conversion coefficient (e (50)):

1 Re = 1 (Sv) / e(50) (Sv/Bq)

The value of the radiotoxicity equivalent strongly depends on the nuclide, the chemical properties of the radioactive substance and the method of intake.
