Kerma-rate constant

The quantity kerma rate constant (k) makes it possible to convert becquerel (Bq) to gray (Gy) in the case of radiation from external activity (A):

K = k A t / r2

K = kerma in air (in Gy)
k = kerma-rate constant (in Gy·mBq-1·h-1)
A = activity (in Bq)
t = exposure time (in h)
r = distance from the source (in m)

There are several variants of this quantity, such as dose rate constant (d), ambient dose rate constant (h), and gamma constant (Γ).
