What the Sience?!
|When:||Sa 02-10-2021 14:00 - 17:00|
|Where:||De Beurs, Wirdumerdijk 34, 8911 CE, Leeuwarden|
Even if you don't always realize it, you come across science everywhere on a daily basis. In the items you use, in the choices you make, every day. The Weekend of Science is a national weekend in which everyone in the Netherlands can take a look behind the scenes of various organizations and institutions in science and technology.
The University of Groningen/Campus Fryslân will open the Beursgebouw at Wirdumerdijk 34 in Leeuwarden to the public on Saturday afternoon, 2 October, with an afternoon full of lectures and activities for young and old.
For example, who suffers from Netflix shame? And what is that? What are the (im)possibilities of sustainable agriculture in a Frisian circular economy? And why do you contribute to scientific research when you record words in Frisian? How do we stop greenhouse gas emissions in the short term?
Our own scientists will answer these questions and more on Saturday 2 October in short lectures, workshops and via installations. In addition to the lectures for (older) youth and adults, FERS provides a special children's program (from 8 years) that runs parallel to the main program in and around the exhibition building.
Covid QR code
In order to physically receive as many visitors as possible, the University of Groningen/Campus Fryslân works with access tests. This means that on the day of the event you'll have to be able to show a valid antigen test (48 hours), PCR test (72 hours), a certificate (QR code) from an official test site, or proof of vaccination (also QR code).
