Becoming a donor

Making a donation

  • To make a donation to the Groningen University Fund, enter your personal details via the web form and authorize the GUF to deduct a contribution directly from your bank account once a year.
The annual contribution for students is € 5.
  • If you would prefer not to submit your personal details online, you can fill out the Payment form and post this to the Groningen University Fund.
  • You may also make gift donations to the GUF, or become a lifetime member by donating a one-off sum of at least € 1,500. The payment form can be used for both of these options.

If you do not want to authorize the GUF to deduct direct debits, you can make donations yourself via bank transfer to IBAN: NL87 INGB 0000873200, in the name of Stichting Groninger Universiteitsfonds in Groningen, stating ‘donatie’ as a reference.

Bequests to the Groningen University Fund

The Stichting Groninger Universiteitsfonds is a public benefit institution (ANBI) and is not liable to pay inheritance tax. Anyone willing to make a testamentary disposition to the Groningen University Fund can draw up a bequest in the name of '‘Stichting Groninger Universiteitsfonds’' in Groningen.

Tax-free donations

Under specific conditions it is possible to deduct your gift from your Dutch income tax. The website of the Dutch tax authorities (belastingdienst) offers more detailed information.
Often, an annual gift for a period of five years or more can be deducted from your tax bill. In order to be able to do this, you need to sign a formal agreement with the Groninger Universiteitsfonds. The belastingdienst has provided a standard form for this purpose.
If you fill in this form, sign it and return it to penningmeester.guf rug.nl. Then we will sign the form and return it to you. Next you can make your donations based on the agreement and deduct them from your tax bill.
