Summary:
This thesis reports on the development of a self-report measure for people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to assess disability and disability perception. The development of this measure was based on items selected from the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), and on suggestions for operationalization made by the composers of the ICF. The thesis will also report on the impact of MS-related disabilities as reported with the new measure, on health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Finally, the results of a pilot study performed to test the feasibility of use of the MSIP in integrated and patient-centred care for people with MS are described.
