Code of Conduct lecture recordings

Lecture recordings

The UG Faculty of Law has the objective to train capable and academically skilled legal experts. With this in mind, the Faculty has consciously chosen to offer academic education on site. This means that the standard for teaching is offering the education in physical form. Lectures will, if possible, be recorded and will be made available to all students who have a course enrolment two weeks prior to the exam. It is not possible to apply for an exception. Seminars and working groups are never recorded; these formats require active participation and protection of the privacy of the active participants.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make recordings in all lecture rooms. This limits the offer of lecture-recordings. The schedule shows which courses are recorded under ‘remarks’. If no remarks are made about lecture-recordings for a course, then no recordings are being made. That automatically leads to the impossibility of making the recordings available to students.

Please be aware:

for courses offered at master-level, it is up to the lecturers to decide whether or not the lecture will be recorded. It is therefore possible that for some courses no lectures are recorded whatsoever, but also that recordings are made available right away. Please take this into consideration when planning. The schedule will indicate under ‘remarks’ for every course whether or not recordings are being made and for master courses: if so, when they will be available to students.

Code of Conduct

Facilitating and providing lecture recordings is a service offered by the Faculty of Law, to which a code of conduct applies for students.

Intellectual property rights

It is not allowed for students to disclose, multiply and/or distribute lecture recordings of which the Faculty of Law holds the rights, regardless of the form in which the lecture recordings have been saved, without written consent of the rights holder.

(Technical) issues

The Faculty accepts no liability for malfunctions or other causes, which lead to the impossibility to make lecture recordings available.
