Free movers

Students who want to study at the University of Groningen, but whose home university does not have an exchange agreement with the Faculty of Arts, have the possibility to apply as free mover (only EU students).

As a free mover you can take undergraduate courses from the course overview for exchange students offered by the various departments of our Faculty and receive grades/credits for them. The maximum stay is one academic year and you can enroll at the start of the semester. This programme does not lead to a Bachelor degree. After successful completion of a course, you will receive an official transcript of records, stating the title of the course, the grade and credits of the course.

Please note that we can only accept a few free movers each year.  

Application

In order to participate, free movers need to send a completed application form, together with all the required documents to the exchange coordinators of the Faculty of Arts. After the responsible exchange coordinator has received this application, the student will be notified by e-mail within 4 weeks whether he/she can be admitted. Admission as a free mover does not guarantee admission to all courses; the course selection will be assessed by the academic adviser for exchange students.
