Giardini, F., PhDAssociate professor Francesca is an interdisciplinary social scientist with a strong interest in micro-foundations of social phenomena. She uses theoretical analysis, agent-based modeling and lab experiments to investigate how individual minds are geared to achieve social sustainability and resilience. In her work she focuses on gossip and reputation as social mechanisms that, depending on the interplay betwen individual cognitions and network structure (within and between organizations), shape sustainable cooperation. She is interested in the realistic modeling of human behavior to improve risk communication, emergency management and disaster resilience. She is one of the coordinators of the Special Interest Group of the European Social Simulation Association SIG-BRICSS: Building Resilience with Social Simulations .

Heyse, dr. L.Associate Professor of Sociology (with ius promovendi) I study nonprofit and public organizations that aim to improve the situation and position of disadvantaged groups in society. I focus on the relationship between these organizations' policies and interventions, their organizational features and the results of their operations. I study these issues in organizations such as humanitarian NGOs, and Dutch municipalities and NGOs working on the labor market integration of refugees, applying both qualitative and quantitative methods.Sociology

Lavrov, I. Ilya Lavrov is an interdisciplinary researcher specialising in resilient societies and decision-making in politics and business. With a keen interest in public policy, digitalisation, transdisciplinarity, cooperation and complex societal issues, he delves into these areas in his research. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Political Science with Honours from MGIMO University. Recently he has also graduated with First Class Honours from an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Transition, Innovation and Sustainability Environments, which is a collaborative program involving four universities, with University College Dublin as an awarding and coordinating institution. Ilya has a strong track record of leading research teams, participating in diverse research projects, and publishing papers and reports. As part of his doctoral research, he is investigating the life cycle of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and exploring the impact of various governance mechanisms, in particular reputation-based governance and consensus voting, on their ability to sustain cooperation and value creation.
