Bremsstrahlung

Bremsstrahlung is a form of electromagnetic radiation that is emitted when an electron is accelerated or decelerated. The fraction of the electron energy that is converted into bremsstrahlung energy (E_brems) depends on the electron energy (E) and the atomic number (Z) of the matter:

E_brems / E ≈ Z E / 800
