IIM Finance Award for Elizabeth van der Wagen

During the Finance Event of the MSc Finance and MSc International Financial Management, Elizabeth van der Wagen received the IIM Finance for her Master Thesis “The causal relation between corporate social performance and corporate financial performance”. Her supervisor was Prof. Dr. Bert Scholtens. Her studies shows that corporate social performance has little bearing on corporate financial performance. .
The thesis award for the best MSc Finance thesis written by a University of Groningen student has been awarded this year for the first time. It is an initiative from the Prof. Robert van de Meer Fund and is a financial prize of 2.500 Euro. Prof. Dr. Michael Damm, Prof. Dr. Roelof Salomons and Dr. Lammertjan Dam were the selection committee. The other nominees were Koen Seebus and Remko Struik.
