Workshop: 'How to Evaluate Your Innovative Teaching Practices'

Many teachers invest a lot of effort into innovating their teaching practices by for example flipping the classroom, using technology to make learning more active or including project work in their courses. But how do we know whether our implementations of these educational techniques really have a positive effect on our students' learning?

In this workshop, we will discuss how you can start evaluating the effectiveness of your innovative teaching practices.

During the workshop, you will receive an introduction to practitioner research into educational innovation, including a remark about ethics and a brief overview of methods that could be used for evaluating teaching innovation. After looking at an inspiring example of what evaluating teaching innovation can look like in practice, we will apply what you have learned to your own courses (if you do not have a suitable course, we will provide you with example cases).
