Externally funded chairs

Professors by special appointment are professors who are appointed by a legal entity, often a foundation or association.

This page provides an overview of the externally funded chairs at the University of Groningen per faculty — including the Faculty of Medical Sciences — along with the institution or foundation that established the chair. Where applicable, the name of the external funder/sponsor is also listed. Most of these positions are chairs by special appointment. The overview also includes a number of regular chairs with external funding.
